Russia, Türkiye review Azerbaijan–Armenia normalisation track
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held talks in Moscow focusing on regional cooperation, including the normalisation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, according to Azertag.
“We discussed in detail the situation in the South Caucasus and the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This is a very important component for ensuring peace in the region,” Fidan said.
Lavrov, in turn, stated that Russia and Türkiye had agreed to maintain close coordination in the South Caucasus, the Middle East, and other regions. He noted that an important area of cooperation remains participation in the “3+3” regional platform, which includes Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Iran, while the “door for Georgia remains always open.”
During the talks, the sides also discussed security in the Black Sea, developments around the Strait of Hormuz, and the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
