Russian forces destroy nearly 40 Ukrainian drones in overnight operation
The Russian Defence Ministry has said that air defence means destroyed and intercepted 39 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the aircraft type over Russian regions on the night of July 28 to 29.
"On-duty air defence means intercepted and destroyed 19 aircraft-type UAVs over Kursk, 9 over Belgorod, 3 over Voronezh, 5 over Bryansk and 3 over Leningrad regions," Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The Ministry’s statement added that the Ukrainian side planned to use these drones to attack facilities on Russian territory.
It was reported earlier that Russian air defence and electronic warfare equipment suppressed and shot down a Ukrainian drone that damaged a utility infrastructure facility in the village of Gazoprovod, Ostrogozhskyy district, Voronezh Region. The resulting fire was promptly extinguished.
