Russian president awards ambassador to Azerbaijan Order of Alexander Nevsky
Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded Mikhail Yevdokimov, the ambassador to Azerbaijan, the Order of Alexander Nevsky.
The decree highlights Yevdokimov's "great contribution to the realization of the foreign policy course of the Russian Federation and many years of conscientious diplomatic service," TASS reports.
Appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan on June 14, 2023, by presidential decree, Yevdokimov previously led the First Department of CIS countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry. His distinguished career, starting in 1981, includes receiving the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland II degree," the Order of Friendship, and the Order of Honor. In June 2018, he was conferred the diplomatic rank of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary.
