Russian pundit rules out confrontation between Europe, Azerbaijan
Russian political scientist Georgy Bovt has said that Europe will not go to confrontation with Azerbaijan.
"As for the resolution adopted by the French Senate, I want to say that the resolution of French politicians will not be supported at the pan-European level," he said during an interview with Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.
"First of all, France is known for having special relations with Armenia, just purely historically so. Secondly, everyone realizes that this is not a realistic demand. And again I will repeat that the EU will not quarrel with Azerbaijan and go to confrontation with it. That is why the French can adopt such resolutions, but the EU will not adopt such resolutions at the pan-European level.
Besides, I do not see any confrontation between the EU and Azerbaijan. This is just a game of criticism and has certain limits, and no serious sanctions will be imposed against Azerbaijan," the political scientist said.
