Russian strikes sweep across Ukraine, wounding civilians, shattering homes
Multiple regions across Ukraine, including Sumy, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia, have come under drone and missile strikes by Russian forces, leaving civilians injured and damaging infrastructure, with local officials reporting incidents across these areas.
Oleg Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, wrote on Telegram that a fragment of a Russian drone struck a civilian car on the outskirts of the city, Caliber.Az reports.
The 59-year-old driver was injured and is receiving medical care while being transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Simultaneously, attacks continued in other regions. Russian forces again targeted the Kyiv region, with drones striking civilian settlements, according to Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. In the Vyshhorod District, a man was injured by a drone strike and hospitalised with a penetrating chest wound, while a private home also sustained damage. Further details are expected.
Oleh Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported additional strikes, including attacks on Slobidskyi District in Kharkiv, with the full extent of damage still being assessed.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, three people were injured in Polohy District due to Russian shelling, according to Regional Military Administration head Ivan Fedorov.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 786 strikes across 30 settlements in Zaporizhzhia, including 20 airstrikes, one missile strike, 533 drone attacks (mostly FPV), four multiple rocket launcher attacks, and 228 artillery strikes. These assaults resulted in 69 reports of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure.
