Scaloni to lead Argentina national football team until 2026

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) confirmed on February 27 that national football team head coach Lionel Scaloni has agreed to extend his contract. 

Scaloni will stay with the "White and Sky Blues" until 2026, per Anadolu.

AFA President Claudio Tapia met with Scaloni on February 27 in Paris to complete the extension deal.

Argentina has enjoyed historic successes with Scaloni at the helm.

The 44-year-old manager's team bagged the 2021 Copa America, then the Lionel Messi-led team clinched the 2022 FIFA World Cup title in December 2022 after 36 years.
