Shusha may host international chess tournament
The leadership of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation has visited the lands liberated from Armenian occupation.
President of the organisation, Mahir Mammadov, and the First Vice-President, Faig Hasanov, visited the city of Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan.
The main purpose of the visit is to check the existing conditions for holding an international chess tournament in these territories soon, according to Report.
The vice-president noted that during the one-day visit they got acquainted with the current conditions: “We are in constant contact with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov. Consultations with the Ministry are ongoing.
A chess tournament is being discussed soon. Once the date of the competition and other data is clarified, the public will be informed about it.”
