Six Azerbaijani boxers advance to finals at 3rd CIS Games
Boxing competitions at the 3rd CIS Games, hosted at the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex, saw a strong showing from the Azerbaijani national team, with six athletes advancing to the finals.
In the women’s 46 kg category, Aysel Farajova earned her spot in the final after a decisive victory over Rukhshonabo Ahadova of Uzbekistan. Amina Taghi (50 kg) followed suit, defeating Belarusian Arina Kmitada with a 4:1 decision in the semifinal bout, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Jamilya Muradli (54 kg) dominated her match against Adelaide Sadvakassova of Kazakhstan, winning 5:0 to secure a place in the final. In the 60 kg division, Aynur Ismayilova overcame Furugh Sarhaszoda of Tajikistan, while Guler Huseynova (48 kg) also defeated a Tajik opponent, Kumriniso Imomaliyeva, to progress.
In the 63 kg weight class, Fidan Bakarova rounded out the successful semifinal campaign for Team Azerbaijan by besting Russia's Zlata Konovalova.
All six boxers will compete in their respective finals on October 4.
