Smuggling of 11 kg of narcotic substances from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented PHOTO/VIDEO

Officers of the State Border Service and the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan have jointly thwarted another attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran.

Following the successful joint operation, 11 kg of 300 g of narcotic substances and 1,000 psychotropic pills “Methadone M-40” were prevented at the Horadiz Border Patrol at 22:10 on April 5, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Border Service.

In addition, at 01:08 a.m. on April 6, two Nepalese and two Sri Lankan citizens were detained in the official territory of the Shamkir border guard detachment upon trying to illegally cross the border from Azerbaijan to Georgia.

Investigative measures are still underway in relation to the abovementioned cases.
