Tokayev’s advisor highlights transparency in climate reports ahead of COP29
Zulfiya Suleimenova, Advisor to the President of Kazakhstan and Special Representative for International Environmental Cooperation, emphasized the critical role of transparent reporting in the global fight against climate change.
Speaking at the high-level dialogue on "Increasing Transparency of Climate Issues through Universal Participation in the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF)" in Baku, Suleimenova underscored that clear reports enable effective tracking of collective progress, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
She noted that transparent reporting is vital for combating the impacts of global climate change, highlighting Kazakhstan's recent experience with severe flooding that caused significant damage to both citizens and the economy. "The floods last spring underscored the urgent need for accelerated climate action in Kazakhstan," she said.
Suleimenova also mentioned that Kazakhstan is preparing its semi-annual transparency report, which will be submitted before the upcoming COP29 conference in Baku this November. "We are committed to continuing our collaborative efforts and dialogue on this crucial platform, aiming for successful outcomes at COP29," she concluded.
