Trump says Iran has "no cards" except Hormuz Strait
U.S. President Donald Trump issued a sharp warning to Iran ahead of planned U.S.–Iran talks in Islamabad on April 11.
“The Iranians don’t seem to realize they have no cards, other than a short term extortion of the World by using International Waterways. The only reason they are alive today is to negotiate!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on April 10, Caliber.Az reports.
Earlier on April 10, Trump told the New York Post that the outcome of the negotiations with Iran would be clear “in about 24 hours,” warning that U.S. warships are being reloaded to resume strikes on Iran if the talks fail.
The United States, Iran and Israel have all claimed victory in the recent conflict. Analysts say the current ceasefire remains fragile and that deep-seated disagreements and competing interests could make it difficult to reach a lasting agreement in the upcoming negotiations.
