Turkish Chief of General Staff welcomes Azerbaijani Air Force Commander in Ankara
Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Metin Gurak has received Commander of the Azerbaijani Air Force, Lt.-Gen. Namig Islamzade in Ankara.
Commander of the Turkish Air Force, Gen. Ziya Cemal Kadioglu also attended the meeting, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Turkish Armed Forces.
General Islamzade was born in Yeni Dashkend village of Barda district in 1974. He studied at secondary school #76 in Hovsan, Baku and then continued education at the J. Nakhchivanski Republican Secondary Specialised Boarding School.
He began his higher education at the Minsk Higher Military Political School in 1991. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, he returned to Azerbaijan and continued studying at the Baku Higher Combined Arms Command School until September 1992. He then continued his education at the Turkish Higher Military Aviation School, graduating in 1996 as a pilot.
