Turkish defence chief to ink $211 million defence deal with Estonia

17 October 2023 15:48

Estonia will sign contracts totaling around €200 million ($211 million) for the procurement of armored vehicles from Türkiye for the Estonian Defense Forces (EDF), according to a report published on October 16.

More than 200 vehicles will be allocated to the Estonia Defense Forces’ 2nd infantry brigade, said the state-run ERR news agency, citing the Estonia Center for Defense Investments. The brigade has reportedly witnessed substantial investment in recent years.

Furthermore, four armored vehicles will be dispatched to the Estonian Rescue Agency for demining purposes, according to the agency.

The Defense Ministry is expected to finalize contracts on October 18, with Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler planning to visit Estonia on the occasion.
