Turkish official: IAEA delegation’s visit to Zaporizhzhya NPP to reduce tensions

Turkish Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin has said that the visit of the delegation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (NPP) would help reduce tensions between Ukraine and Russia.

“It may soon be possible for the IAEA [delegation] to visit the Zaporizhzhya NPP in Ukraine. We believe that the visit will bring tensions to a halt for a while. Nobody, including Russia, wants a nuclear catastrophe. We call on international delegations to ensure the safety of the [Zaporizhzhya] nuclear power plant,” the Turkish TRT Haber TV channel quotes Kalin as saying on August 24.
