Türkiye starts exporting ÇAKIR cruise missile PHOTO
Turkish defence company Roketsan has signed a contract to export the ÇAKIR cruise missile, Roketsan CEO Murat İkıncı said.
The launch of the ÇAKIR missile family developed by Roketsan Company took place on March 31, 2022. ÇAKIR missile family with a range of 150+ kilometres, which includes 8 different missiles in three different groups, is able to meet the needs of many security units simultaneously, Caliber.Az reports with reference to SavunmaSanayiST.com's Twitter page.

The ÇAKIR missile family is built on a modular architecture in four main groups: anti-ship missile (IIR, RF, Hybrid), anti-radar missile, cruise missile (IIR, RF, Hybrid) and swarm attack cruise missile (Swarm).
The ÇAKIR missile with a range of 150+ km is characterised by a mass of 275 kg. Due to its mass, which can be considered quite light compared to its range, the ÇAKIR missile can be repeatedly carried even on air platforms with limited payload capacity.
Equipped with a semi-penetrating thermobaric warhead weighing about 70 kg, the ÇAKIR missile can be effective against any armoured and unarmored targets.
The ÇAKIR missile can be equipped with a solid-fueled launch motor (booster) to overcome the range disadvantage when used from low-altitude aerial platforms such as ground, sea or helicopters. In this case, the missile mass is increased to 330 kg.
Due to the Super Sea-Skimming property (the missile's flight at an extremely low altitude above the sea surface), the missile is very difficult to detect.
