Turkmenistan switches to energy saving mode

MPs of Turkmenistan's parliament have adopted the law "On Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency".

The law establishes the legal, economic and organizational basis for incentives in the specified area, according to the Turkmen state news agency TDH.

The document provides for the application of energy-efficient technologies and introduction of energy management in Turkmenistan. According to the agency, this will contribute to the development of the national economy and allow future generations to use energy resources for many years.

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has repeatedly noted that his country is in favor of rational and efficient use of energy resources.

The deputies also adopted a law on ratification of the agreement between the governments of Turkmenistan and China on international road communication. This document streamlines road passenger and cargo transportation between the two countries on mutually beneficial terms, as well as transit transportation within their borders.
