UAV strike on Cherkasy leaves six injured and dozens of homes damaged photo
A large-scale attack involving strike drones on the Ukrainian city of Cherkasy has left six people injured and caused widespread damage to infrastructure and residential areas.
All six injured individuals sought medical assistance, and authorities have reported that none sustained life-threatening wounds.
According to Ihor Taburets, the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, the drones struck critical infrastructure facilities. As a result of the attack, electricity supplies were disrupted in part of the city. Emergency energy crews were immediately dispatched and are currently working to restore power to affected areas.
Taburets also said that debris from downed unmanned aerial vehicles caused damage in several residential districts. Preliminary assessments indicate that no fewer than 15 private homes were affected. In these houses, windows were shattered, roofs sustained damage, and several fires broke out following the impact.
In addition to residential properties, the attack also damaged other civilian infrastructure. Windows were blown out at a local sports complex, and several vehicles were reported to have been damaged.
Authorities continue to assess the full extent of the destruction while repair and recovery operations remain underway.
