UEFA fines Georgian Football Federation for disciplinary violations
The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body has fined the Georgian Football Federation 56,000 euros for disciplinary violations during the Georgia-Albania Nations League match.
The meeting between Georgia and Albania took place on October 14 at the Mihail Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi. The Georgian national team lost with a score 0:1, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
The Georgian Football Federation was fined 14,000 euros for blocking the exits for fans, 12 thousand euros for the use of lasers in the stands, and 30,000 euros for the use of pyrotechnics by fans.
In addition, due to disciplinary violations, the upcoming home match, which will be held under the auspices of UEFA, where the Football Federation of Georgia will be the host, will be partially closed - minus 2,000 seats for fans.
The federation will be under a probationary period of two years, during which any further violations could lead to more severe repercussions.
