UK Queen Elizabeth II presented with Karabakh horse
Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, has received a delegation led by Elchin Guliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Republic Equestrian Federation (ARAF), at Windsor Castle.
Her Majesty the Queen, who has always followed the performances of Azerbaijani representatives at the Windsor Royal Horse Show, which is organized in honour of the royal family members, was presented with a gift from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev - Karabakh horse "Shohrat", Caliber.Az reports, citing ARAF.
The horse presented to the Queen was taken to Windsor Castle and given to the new owner, along with a certificate containing all of his information.
The famous Azerbaijani sculptor Faig Hajiyev then presented Her Majesty the Queen with sculptures of the Karabakh horse "Alkhan" and the horse "Galkhan" of the "Dilbaz" breed.
Queen Elizabeth II thanked for the gift and expressed her gratitude for the traditional participation in the events of the Windsor Royal Horse Show.
In 1956, [Former Soviet Union Secretary] Nikita Khrushchev already presented Queen Elizabeth (she has been on the throne since 1952) with a Karabakh horse. At that time, the name of the horse presented to the queen was "Zaman". However, then the horse was presented not at the Windsor Palace. President Ilham Aliyev's gift was presented in Windsor.
