Ukraine claims hits on Russian oil depot, bridges, command post
Ukraine’s General Staff has announced a series of strikes against Russian military and infrastructure targets, including the Moscow Oil Refinery, an oil storage facility in the Rostov region, and several transport links used to support Russian military operations.
According to a statement released by the General Staff, Ukrainian Defence Forces carried out a renewed strike on the Moscow Oil Refinery during the night of June 18. The facility, which has a reported annual refining capacity of more than 12 million tons of oil, was described as being involved in supplying the Russian military.
Ukrainian officials said the attack resulted in multiple impacts and a large fire on the refinery’s grounds. Preliminary assessments indicated at least five separate fire locations, with a combined oil-processing unit, secondary refining installations, and a tank farm reportedly affected.
The General Staff also reported a strike on the Gukovo oil depot in Russia’s Rostov region. The facility, used for storing and transferring fuel and lubricants supporting Russia’s military and transport infrastructure, was said to have sustained direct hits, triggering a fire.
In addition, Ukrainian forces claimed to have struck a road bridge over the Kalmius (Kalka) River near the settlement of Hranytne in the Donetsk region, as well as a railway bridge spanning the North Crimean Canal near Rozdolne in occupied Crimea. Kyiv stated that both structures were being used by Russian forces for military transportation and logistical support.
The statement further said that a Russian military command post near Soledar in the Donetsk region had been targeted.
Additional strikes were reportedly carried out against fuel and lubricant storage facilities in Mariupol and Piatypillia, as well as a logistics warehouse near Boikovske in the Donetsk region.
