Ukraine national team to receive enhanced security measures at EURO 2024
German Interior Ministry officials will implement heightened security measures for Ukraine's national team during the European Championship in 2024, Gazeta.ru reports.
Interior Minister Nancy Feather confirmed this decision in an interview with Bild, emphasizing the special attention and additional protection allocated to the team.
During the group stage of EURO 2024, Ukraine will compete against Belgium, Romania, and Slovakia. The tournament kicks off with Germany facing Scotland on Friday, June 14, at Munich's Allianz Arena.
About 350 police officers from 23 countries, including France, Spain, and Türkiye, will work with their German colleagues to ensure security during Europe's biggest football tournament.
An estimated 2.7 million fans will attend matches in the stadiums, and up to 12 million people are expected to watch in fan zones.
The final will be held at Berlin's Olympiastadion on July 14.
