Ukrainian coach Yuriy Maksymov takes charge of Araz-Nakhchivan PHOTO

Azerbaijani football club Araz-Nakhchivan have appointed Ukrainian coach Yuriy Maksymov as its new head coach, the club said, according to Report news agency.

The 58-year-old has signed a contract through the end of the 2026-2027 season, replacing Javid Huseynov in the role.

Maksymov has managed a number of clubs during his coaching career, including Vorskla, Dnipro-1, Polissya, Taraz, Mordovia, Metallurg, Kryvbas, Obolon and CSKA Kyiv.

He previously worked in Azerbaijan as head coach of Keşla, now known as Shamakhi, from December 2017 to July 2018. During his tenure, he guided the club to the Azerbaijan Cup title.
