UN General Assembly president thanks Azerbaijani president

President of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly Abdulla Shahid has expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

“Azerbaijan is one of the UN’s most active member states and expressed his congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of our country's membership in the organisation,” Report informs referring to Shahid’s statement made at a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on June 13, 2022.

He highly appreciated Azerbaijan’s successful chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement and expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani president.

Shahid noted that he highly appreciates the initiatives of global importance put forward by the Azerbaijani president in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
