Unknowns vandalise US consulate general in Sydney
An unknown person has broken windows and smeared red paint on the doors of the US Consulate General in Sydney.
The incident occurred on the night of June 9 to 10. At first, the man "made several attempts to break the windows, but was able to make only a few holes in the reinforced glass", TASS reports, citing the New South Wales state police.
Later, inverted red triangles were painted on the glass front doors of the diplomatic mission - a symbol, police noted, used by some pro-Palestinian organisations.
The police also indicated that experts who arrived at the scene in the morning took fingerprints from the windows, which will be included in the investigation of the unknown person. A representative of the Consulate General said that no one had been injured in the incident and that the diplomatic mission would continue to operate as normal.
