US supports Western Azerbaijanis willing to return to Armenia

The US embassy in Azerbaijan has announced that the US supports the rights of everyone in the South Caucasus.

“The US supports the rights of everyone in the South Caucasus, including Azerbaijanis who have left Armenia,” the embassy told Report while responding to a question whether the US is ready to support Azerbaijanis willing to return to Armenia, from where they were expelled 30 years ago.

“The US supports the creation of conditions for a just and dignified peace in the region, where the rights of all are respected, regardless of their ethnicity or country of origin,” the embassy noted.

Moreover, the embassy noted that the only way to sustainable peace that is in the interests of everyone is to negotiate.

US Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien has recently stated that the US supports the right of Armenians who left the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan to the safe return.
