Yerevan daily accuses Russian leadership of abolishing Armenian statehood

25 August 2022 12:06

Armenian media and social networks continue to stir up anti-Russian sentiments. This time, the Armenian media outlets attacked Russia because a number of settlements and Lachin city were returned to the constitutional territory of Azerbaijan.

According to Caliber.Az, Yerevan-based daily Lragir posted another anti-Russian article the day before, entitled "Kremlin Confirms Plan: Two Decisions Before Leaving for Moscow," accusing the Russian leadership of "abolishing Armenian statehood."

"Two resolutions were adopted at today's government meeting. The increase in pensions and benefits, which was supposed to take place on January 1, 2023, was postponed to September 1, 2022. In addition, according to the project proposed by the Ministry of Defence, conscripts are given the opportunity to complete their military service ahead of schedule for a payoff of 24 million drams.

Two popular decisions that will certainly be positively received by the masses. In full accord with the "mood of the peace agenda." This agenda must be seen on the ground, too, so that the masses can fully enjoy it.

I remember Putin, congratulating the Civil Contract on its victory in the early parliamentary elections, said that Pashinyan had the confidence of the people, which would enable him to make painful decisions. This was followed by painful decisions, which Pashinyan justified with that very vote of confidence.

Moscow is trying to force the implementation of its plans for Armenia. In Karabakh, the Russians surrendered the Lachin corridor, deported the Armenian population, and demanded demilitarization. In Armenia, the routes of extraterritorial corridors and plans to limit Armenian sovereignty to Russian outposts in some territories are ready. In short, Moscow is diligently implementing its plan to abolish Armenian statehood, which must be "legalized" by the Armenian government and parliament by resolutions and laws.

Moscow is preparing a new trilateral meeting to mark the "unconditional implementation" of the plan. The day before, Nikol Pashinyan lamented how difficult it is to maintain independence when your ally is in alliance with your enemy. Then he telephoned Putin, and during the conversation, the "necessity of unconditional fulfillment of trilateral statements" was mentioned again. For its part, the pro-Russian "opposition" opened the political season yesterday with an oath to unconditionally implement the trilateral statement," the Armenian newspaper wrote.
