Zakharova: Russia notifies Türkiye, Ukraine, UN of intention not to renew grain deal

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow had notified Türkiye, Ukraine, and the UN of its objection to extending the grain deal.

According to the spokeswoman, a statement by the Foreign Ministry will be published soon with detailed explanations of Russia's position on this issue, Gazeta.Ru reports.

A year ago, Türkiye, the UN, Russia, and Ukraine signed an agreement in Istanbul to resume grain exports from three Ukrainian Black Sea ports, which had been paused after the Russia-Ukraine war began that February.

A Joint Coordination Center was set up in Istanbul with officials from the three countries and the UN to oversee the shipments.
