Zelenskyy hits Russian defence network with fresh sanctions
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed decrees enacting two new sanctions packages approved by the National Security and Defence Council, targeting companies and individuals linked to Russia's military-industrial complex, as well as figures accused of supporting the Kremlin's war against Ukraine.
The decrees were published on the website of the Office of the President.
The first sanctions package covers 30 legal entities and 42 individuals whom Ukrainian authorities say supply equipment to Russian defence industry enterprises producing components for missile systems and other military hardware.
Among those targeted are the Burevestnik Centre, which is involved in the production of mortar systems and Malva 152-mm self-propelled artillery units, and KAM-Engineering, a company responsible for the final testing of combat aircraft components and certain missile systems for Russia.
The second sanctions package imposes restrictions on 15 individuals and eight legal entities that Ukraine accuses of supporting Russian aggression, spreading Kremlin propaganda, distorting facts, and conducting illegal activities in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
Those sanctioned include military blogger Vladimir Romanov, former Russian military pilot and administrator of the Telegram channel Fighterbomber Ilya Tumanov, and Maria Kiseleva, a deputy of the Moscow City Duma and former synchronized swimmer.
The sanctions list also includes Boryslav Bereza, a Ukrainian citizen. According to information published in the presidential decree, the personal details correspond to those of the former member of Ukraine's parliament and former spokesperson for the Right Sector political movement.
