Turkish special services kill terrorist leader in northern Syria
One of the leaders of the PKK/YPG terrorist organisation, Muhsin Yagan, known by the code call sign "Digvar Silopi," has been neutralised as a result of a special operation conducted by the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) in northern Syria.
The killed terrorist was the so-called "manager" of the group in the Kamishli district, where the special operation was carried out, Anadolu reports.
According to sources in the security forces, Yagan participated in the planning and execution of a number of terrorist acts near the Turkish border, directed against law enforcement officers.
Turkish intelligence is said to have determined that the militant is on Kamishli territory. It was then decided to carry out a special operation in this area to neutralise it.
Muhsin Yagan became a member of the PKK terrorist organisation in the 1990s. The terrorist served as a "responsible person" for the group in the Turkish province of Shirnak, then in the northern Iraqi districts of Kandil, Zap, Gara, Metina, and Makhmur, as well as in the Iranian region of Kelaresh.
On the orders of one of the terrorist organization's leaders, Murat Karayilan, he travelled to Syria in 2020.
Earlier that day, on August 6, Turkish intelligence neutralised Yousif Mahmoud Rebani in Syria under the code name "Rezan Javit". The terrorist of Iranian origin carried out the functions of the so-called "responsible" PKK/YPG in northern Syria's Amud-Derbesie area.
