Erdogan jokingly invites Macron to join Organization of Turkic States
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, during a conversation on the sidelines of the first meeting of the European Political Community in Prague on October 6, jokingly suggested to his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron that France be admitted to the Organization of Turkic States.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Erdogan spoke with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Ministers of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and Hungary Viktor Orban, Gazeta.Ru reports.
The French leader also joined them.
“Macron, let’s take you too,” Erdogan said during a conversation about the Organization of Turkic States, TRT Haber TV channel reports.
The concept of the European political community belongs to the French president.
He noted that Europe needs a structure for developing cooperation with countries with which such close integration is impossible, as within the European Union, in the areas of geopolitics, energy, infrastructure and transport.
The summit is attended by leaders of 44 countries. Its main topics will be the situation in Ukraine, the energy crisis and the economy.
