Ilham Aliyev: Greater part of agreement with EU has already been agreed
A greater part of the agreement with the EU has already been agreed, and the remaining issues are not of such a fundamental nature.
President Ilham Aliyev made the statement in an interview with Azerbaijani TV channels in Prague, Caliber.Az reports.
"A greater part of the agreement has already been agreed upon, and the remaining issues are not of such a fundamental nature. New opportunities have emerged for cooperation in the transport sector. It is because the geographic position of Azerbaijan and modern transport infrastructure - East-West and North-South transport corridors - are also very important for Europe," the President of Azerbaijan said.
According to him, the European Union countries are the main trade partners of Azerbaijan.
"The increasing role of Azerbaijan in the geopolitical space is certainly manifested in the economic sphere, and in the field of investments," Aliyev said.
He praised the fact that the number of contacts between the European Union and Azerbaijan has increased in recent months and mutual trust has grown.
