Russia holds world’s fourth-largest foreign currency and gold reserves

Following the results of the first nine months of 2022, the Russian Federation has risen to fourth place in the volume of gold and foreign currency reserves among major economies of the world.
Russia owns (taking into account assets frozen by Western countries) $540 billion, Gazeta.ru reports.
Prior to that, India was in fourth place in the ranking of owners of the largest foreign exchange reserves. Now New Delhi has $532 billion.
China, which owned $3.193 trillion at the end of September, tops the list. Second place goes to Japan with $1.238 trillion. The third is Switzerland with assets of $892 billion.
