Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó has arrived in Azerbaijan.

The minister announced on his Facebook account that he is due to attend a meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council, Caliber.Az reports.

He said ministers interested in laying a transmission line across the Caspian Sea would gather in Baku along with the South Gas Corridor.

"Our colleagues from South East Europe will also be here.

We hope that we can make significant progress in concretising diversification plans.

Getting natural gas from Azerbaijan is the most realistic scenario in terms of alternative sources of natural gas in Central Europe," said Peter Szijjártó.
