Azerbaijan evacuates over 200 Azerbaijani citizens, members of their families from Türkiye

The necessary assistance is being rendered to the Azerbaijani citizens who have suffered as a result of the devastating earthquake in Kahramanmaras and adjacent Turkish districts.
The operational headquarters established in the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, in the Embassy and Consulates General of Azerbaijan in Türkiye, processes hundreds of hotline calls, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
The lists of suffered Azerbaijani citizens are compiled proceeding from the received data. In this regard, cooperation has been established with the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of National Education, the Council of Higher Education and other state institutions of Türkiye.
“Azerbaijani citizens are being evacuated. A group of employees of the embassy and the office of the military attache at the embassy were sent to the earthquake zone to evacuate people. Some 205 Azerbaijani citizens and members of their families were sent through Georgia to Azerbaijan via five buses from 12 earthquake-affected districts on February 7. Today it is planned to evacuate more Azerbaijani citizens.
“The information about the death of one Azerbaijani citizen, a 43-year-old resident of Baku city Naila Bunyatova has been received. The necessary measures are currently being taken to send her body to Azerbaijan. May her soul rest in peace!” the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
