Russian MFA slams Armenia’s attempts to lay responsibility for situation in Karabakh on third countries

A spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova has said that Russia considers the statements made by the Armenian leadership as a continuation of the position assumed at the summit in Prague in October 2022 under the EU auspices.

Zakharova made these remarks at a weekly briefing, commenting on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that Russia is the "guarantor of security" of Karabakh, Report informs.

“The Armenian leadership tries to make third countries responsible for the situation in the Karabakh region. It is on its conscience,” she stressed.

Zakharova noted that Russian peacekeepers are doing their best to maintain a stable situation in this territory.
The spokesperson noted that all the obligations of the sides have been stipulated in the tripartite statement.

“All obligations of our side have been clearly stipulated in the tripartite statement signed by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia. It is necessary to open this document and see our side’s obligations - that's all,” she said.
