Armenian opposition blames government for hiding details of peace treaty with Azerbaijan
The Armenian opposition accused the country's authorities of avoiding joint discussions of the draft peace treaty with Azerbaijan.
As Artsvik Minasyan, secretary of former president Robert Kocharyan's Armenia faction, stated, the authorities either did not respond to the requests of the opposition deputies, or referred to state secrets.
“The authorities are trying to limit the rights of people at any cost. The written demands of many of our deputies, legitimate requests based on the law, the Constitution are ignored,” the Armenian media quoted the politician as saying, according to Caliber.Az.
According to him, the government is trying to fail any constructive discussions of negotiations with Baku.
At the same time, Artur Hovhannisyan, an MP from the ruling Civil Contract party, said that the opposition has every opportunity to get acquainted with the process of working on a peace treaty, but it “refuses”.
He assured that the authorities do not create any obstacles to the opposition's involvement in the process.
