US allocateds $140 million to Croatia for arms purchases
The United States has allocated $140 million to Croatia for the purchase of new weapons.
TASS reports that Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic announced this on March 30 during a cabinet meeting.
"An agreement has been reached with the US government on $140 million in assistance for the foreign military financing program, which has been allocated to Croatia. We continue our partnership with the US. These funds will be used to buy new weapons in the context of military cooperation with the US," the prime minister said, adding that through this program Zagreb "has already received €800 million".
The prime minister said that the country plans to buy a new squadron of American helicopters in addition to the existing four Black Hawk helicopters. Previously, Croatia bought two of these helicopters from the US and received two more as aid.
