Smuggling of narcotic drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

On April 1, at 02:30 am local time, as a result of joint activities carried out by the border detachment "Goytepe" of the border troops of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan and the police department of the Yardimli region of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, smuggling of over 13 kg of narcotic drugs and 1,500 Methadone M-40 pills from Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented near the village of Avash, Yardimli region.

As Caliber.Az was informed by the State Border Service, during the operational-search activities, three residents of the village of Avash, were detained as suspects.

Operational and investigative actions are ongoing into the case.
