Russian president: Situation in Azerbaijani-Armenian issue developing towards settlement
“We are grateful for the prompt response to the proposal to hold our next meeting, and I hope that this will be a good prologue to the practical solution of some issues that we have been talking about for a long time.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this at the trilateral summit of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia in Moscow, according to APA's Moscow correspondent.
“We managed to achieve a lot in this format, and in the autumn of 2020, not only hostilities were stopped, but then work was launched to unblock economic and transport communications, to delimit the border,” he added.
“Many events have happened during this time, I will not dwell on each of them now, and go into details. In general, in my opinion, despite any difficulties and problems, which are still enough, the situation is still developing towards a settlement. One of these areas is work on transport communications. Just now, the three of us have spoken about this in detail, face to face, and there are still unresolved issues. But, in my opinion - we talked about these issues with our colleagues from the Azerbaijani side, and with colleagues from the Armenian side - in my opinion, they are of a purely technical nature," Putin said.
