Kyrgyz president forbids giving him gifts

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has forbidden his subordinates to give him birthday gifts.

Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, made the relevant remarks at the press centre of the Sputnik Kyrgyzstan agency.

"The president has forbidden all of us to make any gifts, presents, or eulogies. He is a man of exceptional modesty. In three years, Japarov has proved that our people were not mistaken in choosing him as president. Some may like Sadyr Japarov, some may not, but we should all wish him success, because his success is the success of the whole nation and the state," Baisalov's words are quoted on the agency's website.
