What will Erdogan offer Putin?
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan may offer Russian President Vladimir Putin to resume peace talks on Ukraine, according to Turkish analyst Engin Ozer.
"The progress made during the Istanbul process can form the basis of peace talks. To reach a ceasefire agreement, Türkiye can act as a mediator without direct negotiations between the parties," he said, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
According to Ozer, the US and Türkiye have already been exchanging ideas for peace talks in Ankara over the past few days.
Earlier, it was reported that the meeting between Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan is being worked out through diplomatic channels.
However, the date and place have not been set yet.
The Russian leader previously said that he plans to meet with his Turkish counterpart in early 2024, before that they failed to meet due to Erdogan's schedule.
The administration of the Turkish President specified that the meeting is on the agenda, the relevant work is carried out through diplomatic channels, but there are no specifics yet.
