US welcomes start of Azerbaijan-Armenia border delimitation process

The US welcomes the beginning of the process of border delimitation between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Vedant Patel, the first deputy spokesman of the US State Department, made the remarks at a briefing on April 24, Caliber.Az reports.

"We welcome the announcement that Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed upon the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration as the basis for border delimitation between the two countries. This is an important step towards concluding a durable and dignified peace agreement.," he said.

Patel also noted that at the moment the State Department does not have any statements regarding the possibility of a trip to the region by Louis Bono, Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations at the US State Department.
