FC Qarabağ kicks off Champions League campaign with a win
Azerbaijani champion FC Qarabağ has begun their journey in the European cups on a positive note.
The Aghdam club, starting from the second qualifying round of the Champions League, played their first match on July 23, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Gurban Gurbanov's team faced Lincoln in Gibraltar. Having defeated this opponent twice last season, FC Qarabağ aimed to secure an early advantage. They largely succeeded, winning the match by scoring two unanswered goals.
The return leg between the teams is scheduled for July 30 in Baku.
