Afghan citizens trying to cross from Iran into Azerbaijan detained

Azerbaijan's State Border Service has detained Afghan citizens trying to cross from Iran into the country.

At about 01:20 on September 29, four Afghan citizens were detained at the official territory of the Goytapa border post of the State Border Service near Jalilabad District's Gulmammadli village, who violated the state border and tried to cross from Iran to Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports citing the State Border Service press service.

During the investigation, it was established that the detained persons were going to cross from Iran to Azerbaijan and then migrate to one of the European countries through Russia.

Operational and investigative measures over the case are continuing.
