Armenia appoints new Air Force commander

Former senior lieutenant Ovannes Vardanyan becomes the new commander of the Armenian Air Force.

As Caliber.Az reports citing various Armenian media outlets, this decree was signed by the country’s President Vahagn Khachaturyan.

Vardanyan will be replacing Gagik Aslanyan, having been commander since 2019, who has been released from his duties following another presidential decree.

The decision had been made based on the recommendation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
