Gazprom repairing damage caused by drone attack on Blue Stream pipeline
Russian energy giant Gazprom has stated that it is repairing damage caused by a drone attack on the Krasnodarskaya compressor station, part of the Blue Stream gas pipeline network, adding that gas supplies to Türkiye were not disrupted.
The company said at 7:51 p.m. on July 7, the Krasnodarskaya compressor station, which is involved in the supply of Russian gas through the Blue Stream pipeline, came under attack by unmanned aerial vehicles, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
According to Gazprom, the attack was aimed at disrupting uninterrupted Russian gas supplies to Türkiye, but added that prompt measures taken by the company prevented any interruption in deliveries.
Blue Stream is a major gas pipeline running beneath the Black Sea that transports Russian natural gas to Türkiye.
The project was built in 2001-2002 by Blue Stream Pipeline B.V., a Netherlands-based joint venture between Russia's Gazprom and Italy's Eni, and entered commercial operation in 2003.
