Armenia's former president misses court session due to health problems
Ex-President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan has missed the court session for health reasons.
Kocharyan's lawyer Hayk Alumyan presented judge Anna Danibekyan with a medical certificate, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media.
"How long will the treatment take?" the judge asked.
In response, Alumyan asked to switch to a closed format of the meeting because of the need to inform the judge in more detail about the state of Kocharyan's health.
After that, Danibekyan asked all citizens not participating in the meeting, including media representatives, to leave the hall.
Armenia's former President Robert Kocharyan and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan are accused in the same criminal case. Kocharyan is charged with taking a bribe on an especially large scale, and Gevorkyan with money laundering.
