Gazprom ramps up gas deliveries to Central Asia 22%, Georgia 40%
Russian company Gazprom reported a 22% rise in gas deliveries to Central Asian consumers—Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan—in 2025, exceeding the company’s earlier estimate of 20%.
Gazprom continues to reliably supply gas to neighbouring countries, with exports to Central Asia and the South Caucasus growing last year, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Deliveries to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan increased by 22.2%, while supplies to Georgia rose by 40.4%.
Uzbekistan became a net importer of natural gas in 2023, beginning purchases from Gazprom via the Central Asia–Center pipeline, which operates in reverse flow. In 2023, Gazprom supplied 1.28 billion cubic meters of gas to Uzbekistan, rising to 5.64 billion cubic meters in 2024.
According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy, Russian gas deliveries to Uzbekistan could reach 6 billion cubic meters in 2025.
Kyrgyzstan currently consumes around 500 million cubic meters of gas per year. Long-term contracts with Gazprom for future CHPP-2 and Bishkekselmash power plants ensure gas supplies through 2040.
