Iranian intelligence detains suspects linked to foreign networks
Iranian authorities say they have dismantled multiple espionage and militant networks in a series of coordinated operations across the country, targeting what officials described as American- and Israeli-linked agents and preventing planned attacks.
In a statement cited by the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence said the operations were conducted in six provinces and resulted in arrests, weapons seizures, and the identification of assets tied to alleged intelligence operatives.
According to the statement, three individuals were arrested in Semnan province on suspicion of links to a Mossad-affiliated online platform. They were allegedly preparing to transfer information about military facilities.
In separate operations in Golestan and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, four individuals described as takfiri militants were detained before they could carry out attacks.
Authorities also reported intercepting two consignments of weapons and ammunition. One shipment included four firearms that were being transported toward Isfahan, while another cache consisting of 3,560 rounds of Kalashnikov ammunition was discovered in Kermanshah.
In addition, officials said they had identified assets belonging to individuals described as journalist-spies associated with an entity referred to as the International network in East Azerbaijan and Mazandaran provinces. Property linked to two other alleged agents from Canada and the United Kingdom was also identified in Hamadan and is set to be confiscated.
The Ministry of Intelligence called on the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
