Armenia sends response to Azerbaijan on 12th draft of peace agreement

12 March 2025 15:28

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has said that Armenia has sent Azerbaijan a response to the 12th revision of the draft peace agreement.

“We have already expressed our approach to the Azerbaijani side on the 12th edition of the draft peace agreement,” Mirzoyan said, saying that Armenia's approaches correspond to the readiness to establish peace with Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

According to him, Yerevan will have an opportunity to discuss with Baku all issues related to the signing, ratification of the peace treaty.

İn addition, Mirzoyan suggested that a meeting between Yerevan and Baku representatives is expected soon to discuss the provisions of the ongoing peace treaty.

At a press conference on March 12, Mirzoyan addressed questions regarding the coordination of the treaty’s provisions, particularly the potential withdrawal of claims from international courts. He indicated that these issues, among others, are currently being discussed within the framework of the peace treaty text.

If agreed upon, these provisions would be enforced once the document is signed and enters into force.

One of the key points under discussion is the exclusion of third-party presence on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, as well as the withdrawal of legal claims. Mirzoyan emphasized that if the peace agreement is signed, these points, like all others, would be subject to mandatory implementation.

While Mirzoyan refrained from specifying the level at which the meeting would take place, he confirmed that the parties will soon have the opportunity to discuss all issues related to the signing and ratification of the agreement.

“The approaches correspond to the challenges facing Armenia and the peace agenda, our readiness to establish peace with Azerbaijan, and the interests of Armenia,” the minister stated, signaling the government's commitment to advancing the peace process.
